APC Easy Rack, 42U, Black, With Roof, Castors, Feet, 4 Brackets, and Side Panels, No Bottom, 1991H x 600W x 1200D mm

The APC Easy Rack ER6222 42U freestanding rack is designed to house networking and server equipment in a professional, secure and mobile enclosure. With a 42U capacity and a maximum load capability of 1199.75 kg, this floor-standing cabinet accommodates standard 19" rack-mount devices while occupying a compact footprint. The unit is finished in black and comes with castor wheels for simplified movement and placement within data rooms, server closets or office IT spaces.

Advantages

The rack provides a high static load capacity and a full 42U mounting space for dense equipment layouts without exceeding a modest physical footprint. Castor wheels enable repositioning during installation or maintenance, and the open-frame style (or optional enclosed variants) allows effective airflow and easy access to rear and side cabling. The 19" standard mounting rails and 1991 mm height ensure compatibility with a wide range of servers, switches and patch panels.

Suitable for

• Small and medium business server rooms
• Network closets and telecom cabinets
• Edge computing and branch office IT deployments
• Equipment staging areas and temporary installations

How to use

Position the freestanding rack on a level surface and lock the castors if applicable to secure the unit before loading equipment. Install rack-mount devices into the 19" mounting rails using appropriate screws and cage nuts, observing weight distribution rules to place heavier equipment toward the bottom of the rack. Route power and network cabling through the rear and side openings to maintain organized cable management and to preserve airflow. Verify that total installed equipment weight does not exceed the rack's maximum load capacity.

Recommendations

For stable and safe installations, distribute weight evenly and secure heavy units at lower U positions. Use appropriate cable management accessories and ventilation practices to avoid hotspots. When relocating the rack, ensure all equipment is either secured or removed and that castors are rated for the loaded weight.
